About the Event
The Murph Challenge or the "MURPH" as it has come to be known, is a physical challenge workout in honor of fallen Navy Seal and Long Island native, LT. Michael P. Murphy.
This event as written (don't worry there are variations) consists of:
1 Mile Run
100 Pull Ups
200 Push Ups
300 Air Squats
1 Mile Run
The physically challenging routine has become a community event performed on Memorial Day around the country. This year the Wildcat Booster Club with and the administration at Walt Whitman High School and the Athletics are proud to host a community MURPH Challenge. This event will raise funds towards Wildcat Athletics, Whitman Weight Room Renovation and an equal donation to The Michael Murphy Foundation! We hope you will not only participate but go out and get sponsors to help us honor and celebrate our fallen heroes like Lieutenant Murphy and support our athletic programs. This event, when performed with your community is inspirational and at times, emotional. Whether you do a full Murph, half a Murph or modify it to what you can do, come out and be a part of this incredible day!
